Authorities are not yet releasing the name of the victim, but did tell local news outlets the death was due to a roof collapse that occurred at about 2:30pm local time Monday.

The county’s coroner was summoned to the scene, DEP spokeswoman Betsy Mallison told the media, along with a mine rescue team, fire crews and emergency medical response personnel.

The Logansport death is the second mining fatality in the state in 2005. Boyd Alfred Beer Jr, 26, of Kittanning died at the company’s Tracy Lynne room and pillar facility in June, also due to a roof fall.

Rosebud operates nine deep mines in Armstrong, Beaver, Cambria, Indiana and Elk counties in Pennsylvania.
