The TDT belt clamps that Irwin will manufacture have a 3000lb pull rating and may be used on belts up to 7/8” thick. Depending upon the model, the belt clamp features a 3/8” chain or cable and can be pulled across top rollers.

TDT’s spot dusting and re-dusting equipment complements Irwin’s line of bulk rock dusters that can be customized to the specifications of mine operators. All production will occur at Irwin’s Blairsville, PA facility, which covers an area of more than 50,000 square feet.

The spot dusters and re-dusters may be skid-mounted or equipped with rubber tires. They feature hoppers that can accommodate loads of 700-4,000 lbs, and can dust up to 500 feet from the duster through a 2-inch hose. A direct-driven auger transfer provides a continual flow of dust at 50-90 lb/hour for maximum efficiency.

“This acquisition gives us the ability to be a single-source supplier for all of our customers’ rock dusting needs,” president and CEO of Irwin William Baker said.

“By expanding our product line, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to engage in best practices and enhance employee safety.”

Irwin engineers and manufactures custom locomotives and heavy-duty material handling equipment for underground mining and tunneling operations.

The company also supplies the mining industry with a wide selection of bulk and portable rock dusters, conveyor systems, specialty mine cars, mini scoops, belt winders, electric constant tension winches, mine ventilation systems, drills, man-trips, locomotives, diesel, hydraulic, water filtration systems, replacement filter elements, mine switches, signaling devices and replacements parts.
