Just look at the large, heavy equipment required at that time. Mine rescue equipment may still have some bulk, but it is more streamlined in design, purpose and technology.

 

At press time, the US mine rescue competition season was in full swing, with dozens of contests scheduled across the country. These hard-working men and women often train year-round and are committed to the safety of everyone around them as a top priority. No amount of appreciation is too much to send their way.

 

To the many mine rescuers across the country who have forever made mine rescue a part of their lives, we thank you.
