Assistant Infrastructure Minister Jamie Briggs said: “With the $500 million Bringelly Road upgrade now underway, this is another important milestone in our joint $3.6 billion Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan.”
NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay said that the upgrade “will transform the current two-lane road into a major transport and freight route, cutting travel times and reducing costs for the people and businesses of southwest Sydney”
“While tenders are being invited for stage one, detailed design is also under way for stage two between Peter Brock Drive to Mersey Road and planning has started for Stage three and four from Mersey Road to the M4 Motorway,” said Gay.
Stage one of the works covers a 3.3km stretch from Old Northern Road in Narellan to Peter Brock Drive in Oran Park; it will be widened to at least four lanes. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year.
