NCIG engaged the Chute Technology engineering group to optimise the performance and reliability of its stacker reclaimers, as part of a process to ultimately increase its output capacity.

The Port of Newcastle is the largest bulk shipping port on the east coast of Australia, and the world’s leading coal export port.

NCIG’s facility has the capacity to unload up to 12 7000 tonne trainloads of coal a day, and up to 66 million tonnes annually.

Chute Technology’s upgrades focused on maximising coal flow and minimising maintenance on the stacker reclaimers’ tripper transfer and boom transfer chutes.
