ILN is yet to get confirmation from Valley Longwall.

But the New Zealand Herald reported that Josh Ufer, 25, was working as an underground supervisor at the mine.

He had been working at Pike for six months, according to the Courier-Mail newspaper.

Valley Longwall is a leading supplier of in-seam directional drilling services and Pike used in-seam drilling for gas drainage purposes.

The other missing Australian, William Joynson, 49, worked for many years in the Burgowan mines at Howard in Queensland, the New Zealand Herald reported.

The New Zealand police released photos of the two men along with photos of the other missing miners yesterday.
