Chief executive officer Brett Harvey made the announcement yesterday following a meeting of the producer’s board of directors.
A graduate of both the Pennsylvania State University and Duquesne University, DeIuliis joined Consol in 1990 in the research and development group and later became vice-president of strategic planning.
He served as the president and CEO of CNX Gas, Consol’s gas production division, from its inception in 2005 until early 2009. In 2010, a short-form merger resulted in CNX Gas again becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Consol.
Harvey commented that DeIuliis had performed exceptionally as CEO.
“He will continue to keep our company focused on our core values – the top three of which are safety, compliance and continuous improvement."
Consol controls 11 bituminous coal mining complexes in five states, and has proven and probable coal reserves totaling 4.5 billion tons.
