The upgrade is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2013 and comes after the company successfully won the contract for BMA’s giant Caval Ridge project for which it would be closely liaising with overall project manager Bechtel.â€Ã¢€Â¹
“This contract further strengthens Sedgman’s relationship with BMA and BHP Billiton on a range of coal projects in the Bowen Basin,” Sedgman managing director and chief executive officer Nick Jukes said.
“This latest contract is testament to our commitment to continue delivering successful outcomes for our clients.”
After announcing a 70% higher interim net profit of $19.4 million in February, Jukes said Sedgman was well positioned for further growth, with a $604 million order book and a good project pipeline along with a strong balance sheet.
“Strong growth opportunities continue to emerge in Australia, particularly in our traditional coal markets and we remain well positioned to benefit from international opportunities given our established position in key global markets,” he said.
