Pennsylvania nearer to creating waste coal business

The County is looking at using waste coal from operator Ray Bologna to generate electricity.

The bill, introduced last week, would allow any Pennsylvania county to be involved in financing and operating waste coal electric generation facilities.

The County Waste Coal Electric Generation Act has been referred to the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee for an initial review, Platts said.

The aim of the bill was to dispose of old coal piles.
