The BryDet 2854-72 coal recovery auger is powered by a 1650hp CAT diesel motor to power cutting and conveying, and a 500hp CAT diesel motor to power the hydraulic systems.
CAS said its operators bring with them a broad and extensive experience gained worldwide across a range of operating conditions. This experience base has been instrumental in the production performance achieved by the company.
To date, CAS has achieved a number of Australian production records, including auger hole depth of 203m (single auger); production of 2300t in a single shift; and production of 10,000t in a five shift week
CAS said it is able to offer a high productivity contract auger mining service with a proven penetration capability in excess of 200m with a 1.9m diameter cutter head.
It has operated successfully under steep dip (14 degrees) conditions and in gassy seams (8-10cu.m/t).
It said the new generation of auger mining technology offers mine operators economic access to reserves locked away behind final highwalls or in endwalls.
