Energy Developments managing director Chris Laurie said this potential development would complement the company’s nearby 32MW German Creek CMM project now operating at Anglo Coal’s Grasstree Mine.

“When constructed it will deliver significant environmental and financial benefits for all stakeholders,” he said.

The MoU provides for an exclusive period for the parties to conclude binding contracts for the construction and operation of the power station, gas supply, land tenure and access arrangements.

Following finalisation of contracts, construction of the new power station was expected to start late this year, according to Laurie.
