Chief operating officer of Coffey Mining Dan O’Toole said the new appointment formalises the work Yeates has been doing since the merger with RSG Global in 2006.
Yeates will be involved in strategic planning and marketing for the business, with a focus on growth into new markets, both geographically and in terms of the disciplines offered.
“Coffey Mining’s merger with RSG Global achieved many of the then strategic goals of the company, in terms of expanding its service offerings and geographical presence, particularly into Africa,” Yeates said.
Yeates will be responsible for introducing Africa to the increased services and capacity the merger has created, utilising RSG Global’s existing offices in South Africa and Ghana.
In Australia, his work will include growing the more traditional RSG Global disciplines into the eastern states, utilising Coffey Mining’s existing Brisbane office as a logical base for eastern Australia and the Pacific basin.
Yeates will also oversee the launch of the company into new geographical markets in 2007, with the principal focus being the active mining equity and investment markets of North and South America respectively.
