The continuous haulage system will replace its conventional haulage systems underground.

Bounty said it was pleased with the final performance achieved by the haulage system during extensive surface trials.

“With improved operating and safety systems integrated into the machine, the system is recognised as one of the most efficient special-purpose methods for moving materials from the mine face,” the company said.

“Carrying loads on a high throughput conveyor, the Stamler system replaces intermittent transport via conventional shuttle cars.”

In addition to the continuous haulage system, Bounty will also start operating a second unit of production in another area of the mine using shuttle cars released by the continuous haulage system.

“As Australia’s only company with this expertise and equipment, Bounty is strongly positioned to significantly help local and international resources companies extract thin-seam coal deposits,” Bounty Industries chairman Gary Cochrane said.

“We are offering a real gain in productivity to all companies by mining thin-seam coal with the new Stamler system. Bounty can also offer expertise in remnant pillar extraction.”

Bounty shares were trading at 9c this morning.
