The presentation was made by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh at the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards this month.
“Intellection builds and supports automated mineralogy analysis systems, including both hardware and software,” Bligh said.
“It's advanced measurement hardware accurately measures the content of samples taken from potential mining deposits and also includes advanced sample preparation methods, a unique mineral identification software suite, and flexible analytical reporting.
“The Intellection system is a very attractive technology in the mining, oil and gas, and coal-related sectors where its detailed analysis provides data for use in exploration, and maximising production and recovery rates.
“I congratulate Intellection on the win, and wish the company well as it continues to build its relationships and sales in the massive China market."
Intellection chief executive Chris Staples said since Intellection was founded in 2003, the majority of its revenue has come from exports, with sales to mining companies, commercial laboratories and research institutions in Australia, the UK, the US, Canada, South Africa, Peru, Brazil, Chile, India, and more recently Russia and China.
Last year Intellection won the Dermot McManus Award for Innovation in Export at the 2007 Premier of Queensland's Export Awards.
The Tom Burns Award was established last year to recognise emerging exporters to China or Vietnam.
