Conference organisers are seeking papers from coal mine operations, as well as fundamental and applied coal mining research.

Papers are invited that cover surface mining, geology, heading development, mining methods, equipment and machinery innovations, ground control and strata management, instrumentation and monitoring, roof support techniques, mine subsidence, ventilation, mine fire and explosions, flooding, as well as risk and mine management.

A pre-conference workshop addressing respirable coal dust exposure monitoring and control is seeking papers on the status of current control technology, current exposure standards, development of real time dust monitoring technology and exposure trends in the coal industry.

Coal2018 will be held on February 7-9.
