Queensland Treasurer goes luke warm on Adani

Trad said Queensland needed all industries to play their role.

The Queensland government, which is opposing a $900 million loan to Adani by the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, had previously stated that the $16.5 billion Carmichael project would help increase growth in the state.  
 
"We need all industries to play their role," Trad reportedly told The Australian. 
 
"It's not just one company, we've got many projects in the pipeline — whether they're resource companies, whether they're renewable energy companies.
 
"We are a nation-leader in terms of our renewable energy industry here in Queensland and we want to continue that so, quite frankly, the view of this government (is) that we don't put our eggs all in one basket. 
 
"That's why we have worked hard over the past 3.5 years to diversify our economy."
Asked if she wanted the project to go ahead, Trad reportedly said: "We want to ensure that we have a strong resources sector, whether that's with Adani or whether it's with a whole range of other resource projects that are currently in the pipeline".
