Chinese home building spurs on met coal and steel: ANZ

THE bulk commodity market held up well over the past week considering the sell-off occurring in other sectors with thermal coal up 1.9% to US$118.15 per tonne and metallurgical coal up and premium hard coking coal up 2.1% to $183.70/t, according to ANZ Bank.

The good result for coal was driven by steel futures in China which also ended the week higher, with steel rebar up 2.2%, according to the ANZ Commodity report.
