BUMPER coal production of more than 200 million tonnes per annum means the Queensland government can expect almost an extra $1 billion over above its record projections in the budget last year from coal royalties.

The Queensland Resources Council forecasts royalties on both thermal and metallurgical coals are due to set a record of $4.46 billion in 2018-19 - or the equivalent of $12 million a day.
