ANGLO American has lowered its 2020 metallurgical coal production outlook to 21-23 million tonnes from 22-24Mt due to the sale of 12% of its Grosvenor longwall mine in Queensland to joint venture partners.

Anglo American's decision to sell 12% of its Grsovenor to Japanese minority partners from its Moranbah North will impact production figures.

Anglo American announced in November that it would sell the 12% stake to its Japanese minority partners in the nearby Moranbah North mine for about US$141 million.
