AUSTRALIA’S minerals sector has paid $230 billion in royalties and company tax – enough to build 8850 schools or 320 hospitals – in the past 11 years, according to a Deloitte Access Economics report.

Report shows mining industry underpins the economy through company tax payments and royalties

Commissioned by the Minerals Council of Australia, the report shows company taxes and royalties paid by miners increased $8 billion in 2018-19 to a record $39.
