Peabody milestone lauded

QUEENSLAND Resources Council chief executive Ian Macfarlane has lauded Peabody Australia’s receipt of Queensland government certification for its rehabilitation of almost 90ha at its former Wilkie Creek mine northwest of Dalby, Queensland.

Peabody had hoped, several years ago, to sell the Wilkie Creek operation. That did not eventuate so it instead opted to rehabilitate it to a variety of post mining land uses - one being cattle grazing....
