The Ranger mine in the Northern Territory is set to close its mine gate in 2021.
While the mine has been in operation for more than 30 years, ERA only submitted a closure plan in June this year.
Under the plan mining at Ranger will be phased out by 2021, while final rehabilitation activities will be wound up by 2026.
The 544t load produced in September is a 30% increase on June's figure of 400t.
The higher volumes of ore milled and increased ore grades come from the primary ore stockpiles on-site, which ERA plans to gradually diminish.
Proper mining has not taken place at Ranger since November 2012.
Production in the June quarter was also disrupted by annual mill maintenance.
