Cokal loads first coal from Krajan jetty

FIRST coal from Cokal’s BBM coal mine in Kalimantan is being loaded from the Krajan jetty into the company’s barges and transported to Batu Tuhup jetty.

This comes after delays due to unseasonably low water levels in the upper Barito River.

"Water levels at Krajan jetty have improved and deemed safe to commence coal loading," Cokal said in an update.

"Cokal has been continuing to stockpile coal at the Krajan jetty in anticipation of improved river conditions.

"Coal will be transported to the BBM permanent jetty at Batu Tuhup where it will be stocked."

Initial infrastructure to handle coal unloading, stock piling and loading onto larger barges at Batu Tuhup jetty was in place, Cokal said.
