MINING and mineral processing has restarted at the Capricorn Copper mine in Queensland following the suspension in early March, due to relentless rain over a five-day period that saw about 500mm dumped on the mine site.

Between March 6-10 Capricorn Copper witnessed the highest five-day rainfall event ever recorded for the Mount Isa region. 

The 500mm included two consecutive days of about 200mm of rain.
