THE New South Wales Resources Regulator has reminded miners to always be on the lookout for defects that could affect safety at work after a dangerous incident at an underground metal mine last week.

The ejected nut

A fitter was re-gassing an accumulator on a drilling jumbo with nitrogen when the nut connecting the regulator and gauge to the nitrogen bottle broke, sending both attachments flying into the air.
