THE opening of a Brisbane office means longwall mines in Queensland will now have quicker access to a range of underground products supplied by Advanced Chain Technologies (ACT).

ACT (Australia) formed a separate company called ACT Lifting to handle sales of the German manufactured, JDT Grade 100 and Grade 80 lifting equipment. ACT Lifting is headed by managing director, Chris White.

White said ACTL chose the location of North Brisbane for the potential in lifting equipment, and to be closer to the Queensland mines. The geographical location will allow ACTL to provide greater local support for the distribution of ACT - AFC conveyor chains, flight bars and connectors as well as Scorpion Cable Handler and Tri-log passive supports.

“Previously if a Queensland mine needed anything we were at least two days away. Now we can get equipment to them or any of the NSW mines in less than 24 hours,” he said.

ACTL range of lifting equipment is currently sold to mines through agents.
