The gravity survey on the Darling Downs is nearing completion and the airborne geophysical survey will be flown in the next few months.

The survey will cover an area around St George in the south to Theodore in the north.

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines will be conducting regional geophysical surveys through both gravity and airborne means in Queensland over the next few years.

The Smart Exploration program targets four areas with the highest potential for the discovery of additional mineral and energy resources including the Mount Isa region, Drummond Basin, Bowen and Surat Basins and the Mt Rawdon corridor near Gympie.
