BUCYRUS has placed its second 30M continuous miner at a Jim Walter Resources mine, with a third to be sent in August.
The first 30M was shipped to JWR Blue Creek No. 4 mine in July of 2007.
In 2008, the Bucyrus 30M was the best-performing continuous miner at the operation, setting a new production record for the No. 4 mine.
According to a JWR mine manager, it was the 30M’s reliability that helped to make it the top producing machine of the year.
Located in Brookwood, Alabama, the No. 4 mine produces medium volatile metallurgical coal for export.
