Kinetic Group business development manager Jason Morgan said the network meetings covered a broad overview of each topic before they were then analysed and workshopped on a much deeper level in the professional development session afterwards.

“The network meetings discuss the key industry issues such as skilling and training, workforce planning and retention, legislation, technology and funding initiatives,” he said.

“Facilitating these meetings is key to our role as the skills advisor to the resources sector.

“Without these valuable networks, we would not be able to tap into the important issues at a site level.”

The theme of the personal development session is “competency versus compliance” which was specifically designed to address the assessment of competency.

The session will also incorporate feedback and information presented at the recent inspector workshops held in Emerald and Toowoomba.

The 2012 Kinetic Group regional network meetings are also being held in Brisbane, Blackwater, Moranbah, Surat, Cairns, Mackay, Townsville and Gladstone.
