Palmer palaver

COULD one of the largest presences in Queensland politics be pushed out of the Liberal National Party?

Staff Reporter
Palmer palaver

That is the question consuming political watchers.

Coal mining magnate Clive Palmer, who is understood to be a life member of the LNP, has reportedly been asked to consider whether he still wants to remain a member of the party.

As Longwalls was heading out into the ether, Palmer was poised to make an announcement on his LNP membership status.

The LNP stoush has come on the back of criticisms Palmer levelled at Queensland Premier Campbell Newman over Newman’s decision to raise coal royalties in the recent state budget.

One of Palmer’s comments was that he would be surprised if Newman would still be premier by Christmas.
