Ecolab expands coal service footprint

ECOLAB has bought the water treatment, car top dust control and freeze conditioning specialty chemical and service businesses from AKJ Industries in Florida for an undisclosed sum.

Revenues for the treatment business were about $US23 ($A24.6) million.

Ecolab Global Water and Process Services president Timothy Mulhere said the acquisition complemented Ecolab’s existing coal industry offerings and service footprint.

“It enables us to offer more sustainable solutions to our mining industry customers globally and expands our service capabilities for customers in the faster growing western US and Canada coal markets,” he said.
