NEW coal mining contractor benchmarks and levels of excellence are being made in Queensland and the state’s Mining Contractor Awards will showcase these achievements, according to Bowen Basin Mining Club director Jodie Currie.

The awards highlight any supplier or contractor delivering innovative solutions, best practice and value for money and recognise ground breaking projects delivering quality outcomes to mining, exploration and production companies, she said.

“This is a business opportunity to be recognised and to give your team a boost,” Currie said.

“The awards are also great exposure to influential clients.”

All mining contractors and suppliers with operations in Queensland are invited to enter their best work into seven major award categories.

Award categories announced include: cost saving initiative, time saving initiative, project

innovation; community and staff engagement initiative; equal opportunity initiative; QME best product launch and mining contractor of the year.

Currie said the size of the company is no barrier and a leading industry panel would judge the submissions.

Category award finalists and winners will be announced at a Presentation Dinner during the Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition in Mackay on July 27, 2016.
