Cockatoo said the upgraded JORC-compliant resources demonstrated the growth and potential for increased rates of production at the project.

Cockatoo is back exploring after production at the mine was temporarily halted due to flooding of the nearby Dawson River in May which blocked road transport to the mine.

It said four exploration rigs carrying out coal quality coring for raw coal and washability data were back to full production.

Geotechnical, hydrological and gas-test drilling are set to commence within the next month delivering “critical mine planning information”

A total of 609 holes have been drilled in the Baralaba mine project, including 11 part-cored holes for 891 metres.

Core drilling activities in the Baralaba South project area are scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.
