Teck appoints BHP veteran

CANADIAN mining giant Teck Resources has appointed BHP Billiton veteran Andrew Golding as its senior vice-president of corporate development.

Golding was previously the commercial vice-president of BHP’s energy coal division.

“I am pleased to welcome Andrew to Teck,” president and CEO Don Lindsay said.

"His many years in the mining industry, particularly focused on corporate strategy, development and transactions, make him ideally suited for this role.”

Golding will succeed Ron Vance, who is retiring at the end of February.
