The blast reportedly occurred at about 4am or 5am in a closed incline of the Lakshmimata mine in India’s Jharkhand province on Wednesday.

According to Indian news service IBN, the relevant coal company aimed to fill in the blast area with sand to put out the flames and smoke that followed the explosion.

There was no coverage on the possible cause of the blast, which did not cause any injuries.
