New safety eyewear not a pain in the ears

GATEWAY Safety has released the latest product in its Temple Technology range – Parallax safety eyewear.

Lou Caruana

Parallax features a patented temple design that allows for comfort for all-day wear.

The eyewear’s temple is composed of two parallel temple pieces, with a rigid, top temple component providing stability and the lower temple component – made from a flexible polymer – acting as a cushion, minimising pressure behind the ears.

The temple’s two distinct components work together for comfort and safety, Gateway said. “They also provide a distinguishing style,” Gateway said.

Parallax has a single, large, wrap-around lens for exceptional protective coverage, and an integrated brow guard protects against debris from above.

Its soft gel nosepiece works with the temples to ensure the glasses stay securely in place.

These safety glasses meet ANSI Z87+, CSA Z94.3, as well as the ballistic impact resistance requirements for eyewear required by US military performance specification MIL PRF-31013, the company said.
