Another 130 miners were injured in the two methane gas explosions at the Raspadskaya colliery on May 8.

While the fires have been put out, rescue efforts will be delayed for the rest of this week because of high methane levels.

There are still 24 people missing underground, according to Russian media reports.

The Russian Prosecutors General Office ordered safety inspections in 16 coal mining areas, according to RIA Novosti.

The Raspadskaya mine owners have already told the news service the mine will be restored with all jobs saved.
