The conference will cover policy development, world coal demand outlook, world clean coal technology review, the role of emissions trading, long-term liability issues for geosequestration, the power market after the Stern report, research and development updates, and local and international case studies and technology showcasing.
The major international speaker will be US Department of Energy senior program manager Joseph Giove.
Other speakers include Queensland Mines and Energy Minister Geoff Wilson, National Emissions Trading Taskforce project manager Anthea Harris, CRC for Coal in Sustainable Development chief Frank Van Schagen and Stanwell acting CEO Gary Humphrys.
