For the first time ever, the networking event will be held in Moranbah, dubbed the heart of the state’s coal mining region.

It will be attended by BMA mining production head Jon Evans and general manager John Holland.

BBMC director Jodie Currie said the event would benefit from being held closer to the coal face because it would enable site personnel to network and listen to presentations and workshops by industry leaders.

“By holding the event in Moranbah, suppliers will be able to invite their clients to lunch rather than having to meet onsite,” Currie said.

BBMC has collaborated with Anglo American, Enterprise Connect, Industry Capability Network, AusIndustry and the state Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation to ensure the event is successful.

A special interactive workshop called “Bringing Safety Back to Earth” will be held prior to the luncheon.

The workshop will be presented by electrical earthing expert Malcolm Davies and will focus on breaking down the sciences underpinning safe earth techniques.

More than 250 people are tipped to attend the event.

It will take place on Friday, May 18 at the Moranbah Community Centre.
