Consol production results for June

US miner Consol Energy reported production for June 2001 of 6.1 million tons of coal.

The Enlow Fork Mine produced a record 1.15 million clean tons during the month. Mine 84 increased its tonnage in June compared with the previous two months. The Amonate, Blacksville, Mahoning Valley, Rend Lake, Robinson Run and Shoemaker mining complexes began their two week summer vacation in June.

Total coal production for the June 2001 quarter was 19.4 million tons, and average realisation per ton of company-produced coal for June was 10% improved on the same month a year ago.

Average realisation for the June 2001 quarter was US$24.81 per ton, exceeding previous company predictions, and was improved nearly 8% from the same period a year ago.
