China's major coal producers take home US$240M

CHINA’S 32 major coal companies recorded a combined profit of US$240 million (2 billion yuan) in the first eight months of the year, according to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).

Business Daily reported the combined profit was up 39.6% year-on-year, with total industrial output value up to 14.7% to US$3.38 billion (27.96 billion yuan).

SASAC said two coal firms were loss makers, registering a shortfall of US$72.49 million (600 million yuan).
