Provinces lift sights

CHINA’S central and southern provinces are ramping up production and developing new mines in a bid to meet domestic demand.

Central China’s Henan Province plans to open and expand ten more coal mines, Asia Pulse reported. The mines are expected to have a combined annual production of 12 million tons.

The South West province of Guizhou has set output targets of 85 million tones this year, a jump of almost seven million tons from last year.

According to an Aisia Pulse report, the province completed 18 projects, with a total tunneling footage of 58,900 meters last year.
