As previously reported on International Longwall News, the gas blast occurred at the mine just before 9am on Tuesday June 15.

Dow Jones News said 85 miners were working underground at the time of the explosion. Of them, 65 miners were rescued, including five injured miners who were rushed to hospital.

Fifteen bodies were also recovered and seven miners remained missing.

Earlier this week rescue attempts were hampered by floods which inundated a key tunnel.

Rescuers have now recovered the remaining seven missing miners bodies.

No cause for the accident was given.
