Ground control papers sought

ORGANISERS of next year’s International Conference on Ground Control in Mining have issued a call for papers.

Established in 1981, the conference is widely acknowledged as a major forum for the exchange of information among researchers, consultants, government regulators, equipment manufacturers and mining industry professionals.

Next year’s conference will be held August 2-4 at the Lakeview Scanticon Resort in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Papers are invited in the fields of ground, strata, and roof controls with emphasis on applied theories, problem solving and case studies. Abstracts are due January 14 with final papers due May 13.

Conference sponsors include US National Institue for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), US Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), West Virginia Coal Association and West Virgina University.
