AT midday yesterday Centennial Coal took a majority 50.4% stake in New South Wales miner Austral Coal.
The 50% mark came six weeks after Centennial made its $300 million scrip bid for Austral.
Yesterday was the last day for acceptances with an entitlement to Centennial’s 6c per share interim dividend.
Centennial offered Austral shareholders 10 Centennial shares for every 37 Austral shares.
This morning Centennial held just over 66% of Austral.
