The deal follows the success of SRK Consulting’s roles as Independent Technical Engineer (ITE) for the IPOs of the Aluminium Corporation of China and Fujian Zijin Mining Industry Company.
SRK will also perform services for a gold mining company planning to list this year.
The IPO activity from China and interest in the Chinese mining industry is forecast to continue for some years and SRK established an office in Beijing early this year to service the growing demand.
SRK China is initially providing technical services in the areas of exploration geology, mine geology and geotechnical engineering.
The SRK China staff also assist in due diligence teams with project reviews in China. Language translation for technical areas is one of the vital areas of communication that assists SRK in reviewing mining projects in China.
