On display at the Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition 2006 (QME 2006) on July 25-27 will be the award winning Grease Pressure Release Gun, a hand-held safety device used to detect the presence of residual pressure trapped behind the grease nipples of lubrication systems in industrial machinery.
The gun detects the residual pressure and also gives a visual indication to advise this condition. It can then be used to release the trapped pressure from within the system, thereby rendering it safe to work upon.
The gun has received numerous awards, including the NSW Minerals Council Safety and Health Innovation Award 2005 and Minerals Council of Australia National Safety and Health Innovation Award 2006. It was also named Episode Winner 2006 on the ABC television show The New Inventors.
Also on display will be the new Digital Proportional Valve Amplifier, which has no cover to remove, no potentiometers to adjust and no need for an oscilloscope.
The valve-mounted digital amplifier is easily programmed using a hand-held programmer and infrared cable adaptor.
