Waratah beat 34 other finalists to win the prestigious trophy.
Waratah Engineering was also named as the winner of the 2006 Import Replacement Product of the Year for the introduction of the Waracar to the Australian underground coal mining industry.
Waratah has now supplied 25 Waracars into NSW and Queensland and has a current order book of seven machines.
Sales this year have been to Wambo North (three cars), Walter Mining's hire fleet (two cars), and three to be delivered soon: two cars to Newcastle Coal's Tasman project and one to the Wambo North operation. A further two will also be heading to Tasman in February next year.
