Tucker will oversee the company’s international Research, Development & Engineering (RD&E) organisation.

Before joining Kennametal, Tucker was chairman and CEO of engineered protective coatings developer Sermatech International. He is a mechanical engineering graduate from the Pennsylvania State University.
In related placement news, Kennametal also announced it had selected Steven Hanna as its new chief information officer.
Hanna’s appointment is also effective October 1, and his responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s information technology functions. A prior employee of General Motors Corporation, he earned a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from the General Motors Institute.
