NCC taps Solochek for board

APPALACHIAN producer National Coal Corporation has added coal company veteran Marc Solochek to its board of directors.

Solocheck’s election was effective March 1.

Prior to his work with NCC, the 30-year coal veteran served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Vulcan Capital management as well as board of managers chairman at Elk Horn Coal.

Solocheck’s experience includes his positions as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Triton Coal Company and as a consultant to the director of mergers and acquisitions for Vulcan Capital Management.

He also held the seat of chief financial officer for Ashland Coal.

NCC extracts from its mines in eastern Tennessee and Alabama with a staff of about 350 people.
